About

Hi, I'm Amanda! While I've been a creative type my whole life, it was during a particularly stressful season in my twenties that I reconnected with knitting as a way to keep my hands busy and my mind still. I haven't looked back since, and in fact continued to pick up more fiber art/textile related pursuits along the way.
Creativity runs in my blood: my mom taught me sewing and knitting as a child, my cousin taught me cross stitch, and my mom's own foray into embroidery inspired me to try my hand at it as an adult. Throw in crochet, weaving, and a side of punch needle and if it's got some sort of connection to fiber and textiles, I either have done it, am doing it, or would like to do it.
My work is borne out of my need to create, while also being resourceful with what materials I have. The baby hats I make use hand dyed yarn I also use in my personal knitting and crochet projects. My original art allows my creative skills to stretch while I slowly work my way through the extensive materials I've gathered over the years. My hand knitting patterns are designed with easy-to-memorize motifs and repeats so that they don't add any stress in the making process. I'm proud of everything I make, and I hope that pride shines through my work.
I live in metro Detroit with my fiancé and our two darling Boston terriers. As a new Michigan transplant, you can usually find me exploring the amazing options metro Detroit offers with my latest craft project in hand! Online, I can be found on Instagram.
